ABOUT DROWSY DRAGON FARM

Nestled in the scenic Berkshire foothills, Drowsy Dragon Farm (formerly Pioneer Valley Organic Farm) produces delicious and certified organic blueberries, red raspberries, black raspberries, and golden raspberries.  The farm has been in operation for over 50 years, and 2019 marks our 11th harvest for the current owners.  It is our great privilege to own and operate one of the sweetest places on earth!

We are blessed with the perfect soil conditions for most berries. The West Branch of the Westfield River runs right through our property, and provides us with a wonderful source of unpolluted water for our drip irrigation. We use a combination of mulch, compost, molasses and organically certified fertilizer to help build our soil.

Our berries are produced for retail only.   We do not offer u-pick services on our field.  Please refer to the "where to buy" page for a list of our retailers, as well as our participation in local farmers markets.

ABOUT OUR JAMS

We are committed to providing lowered sugar preserves, and we are constantly experimenting with new formulas, as well as different value-added products featuring our berries. Our raspberry jams have a 4/1 fruit to sugar ratio, while we make both 4/1 and 3/1 blueberry jams. We feel that too much sugar takes away from the flavor of our fruit, so we strive to use only enough sugar to securely preserve the jam. For those with a special sweet tooth, our 3/1 blueberry jam should do the trick!

The sugar we use is pure cane sugar. We use no corn syrups or any other sweeteners at this time. In the future, our jams may feature sugars from other sources (e.g. maple, coconut), but we vow to NEVER use corn sweeteners!
